New Features in The Missing Sync for Palm OS, v6.0
The Missing Sync for Palm OS v6.0 introduces new features including several designed specifically for Treo smartphone users. Each new feature is explained in detail below.
Support for Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard
The Missing Sync for Palm OS version 6.0.2 is compatible with Mac OS X Leopard.

Imports Video from Treo Smartphones
The new Video conduit automates the process of getting videos taken with a Treo smartphone onto your Mac.

  • Choose to import videos into a folder on the Mac, such as the Movies folder, or directly into an iPhoto album you've selected.
  • Videos can be played on the Mac using QuickTime Player.

Encodes Video for Palm OS-based Playback
The new Video conduit can also convert video content on your Mac for playback on your Treo smartphone, or on any Palm OS handheld with an MP4 video player installed.

  • To encode a video for playback on your device, choose the type of Treo or select MP4 for other devices with an MP4-capable player application, then simply drag and drop the video file onto The Missing Sync.
  • An included helper application uses QuickTime to encode videos into the proper format and resolution. A progress bar shows encoding status.
  • Encoded videos are downloaded to the device's SD memory expansion card during the next sync operation. Use the Treo's Media application or an appropriate MP4 player to view downloaded videos.

Treo Call Log Support*
The new Mark/Space Call Log conduit downloads Treo call log data to the Mac, where it can then be viewed, sorted, searched and filtered using the included Call Log application for Mac OS X. This feature is especially useful for individuals who keep track of time on calls or anytime you need to find that certain number from a month ago.

  • The included Call Log application for Mac OS X integrates with Apple's Address Book to display additional information for each known contact, including contact photos and company names.
  • Sort by type of call, name, phone number, date or duration.
  • Choose to view only incoming or outgoing calls.
  • Use Spotlight technology to quickly find specific information, such as all calls to or from a certain individual.
  • Toolbar buttons provide quick access to a contact's record in Address Book and an easy way to create new Address Book records from any call made or received.
  • Add notes to any call log entry.
  • Export all call log data in CSV format for use in Excel or importing into a database for further manipulation.

Treo SMS Message Support*
The new Mark/Space SMS Log conduit reads the SMS text messages from a Treo and copies them to the Mac, where they're accessed with the included SMS Log application for Mac OS X. This new capability keeps all your important SMS text messages backed up to and readable on your Mac.

  • The included SMS Log application is used to view SMS text messages on the Mac. Integration with Address Book provides additional information for known contacts, such as contact photo and company name.
  • Messages are sorted by contact.
  • Use Spotlight technology to search by message text.
  • Toolbar buttons provide quick access to a known contact's record in Address Book and an easy way to create new Address Book records from any contact with whom you've exchanged text messages.
  • Export the entire SMS message history in CSV format for use in Excel or importing into a database for further manipulation.

Improved Notes Synchronization
The Missing Sync for Palm OS has been upgraded to synchronize text notes with the included Mark/Space Notebook application for Mac OS X, which replaces the older Mark/Space MemoPad application and provides a much better user experience. Syncing with certain other notes applications on the Mac is also supported.

  • Includes Mark/Space Notebook for Mac OS X, which allows you to create, edit, categorize, sort and search notes and synchronize them with a Palm OS device. (Mark/Space Notebook replaces the older Mark/Space MemoPad app.)
  • Mark/Space Notebook supports Mac-to-Mac syncing via SyncTogether or Apple's .Mac syncing.
  • Choose to sync text notes from a Palm OS device with either Mark/Space Notebook, Microsoft Entourage 2004 or Bare Bones Software's Yojimbo.

*Call Log syncing does not support the Treo 600; SMS Log syncing does not support the Treo 600 or Verizon-branded Treo 650.
